Mount Sinai radiologists will use Ultrasound in their medical facility at the US Open. It has special settings and probes to diagnose musculoskeletal injuries. The ultrasound machine will allow physicians to triage patients at the point of care and recommend more involved imaging techniques depending on the injury’s severity. If treatment is necessary, physicians will be able to do ultrasound-guided joint treatments at the stadium.
The NBA and GE Healthcare are issuing a call for proposals for researchers in orthopedics, sports medicine, radiology and other disciplines asking for research and evidence based treatments on myotendinous injuries.
