The CDC dropped its universal masking guideline for healthcare workers after a weeklong slowdown in COVID-19 hospitalizations and nursing home infections nationwide, CBS Newsreported Sept. 23.
From Becker’s, Medscape surveyed more than 1,350 physicians employed by healthcare organizations, hospitals, large group practices, clinics or other medical groups about their jobs.

The number of ASCs is growing across the U.S. as patients and payers demand more outpatient surgery.
Five states have seen their ASC counts grow by at least 10 percent since 2020, according to CMS data compiled by the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. Texas and California lead the pack, each with 32 ASCs added since 2020.
SCA Health, an ASC management company owned by Optum, has added new surgical facilities since March of 2021.
SCA now has over 320 surgical facilities, up from 230 last year. In addition, while they used to serve 8,000 physicians across 35 states, they now serve 9,200.
Medscape’s 2022 physician and taxes report shows that most physicians in the country are taxed in the top 10 percent of workers in the country, and the majority of physicians feel as though they are overtaxed.
